About Sofa Sessions
Sofa Sessions began during the COVID pandemic, at a time when live music had fallen silent.
What started as a simple idea quickly grew into something much bigger — a daily live performance featuring incredible artists from across the scene. For over 100 consecutive days, Sofa Sessions brought music into people’s homes, creating a sense of connection during a time of isolation.
During that time, we also raised over £1,000 for Colchester Foodbank, supporting the local community when it needed it most.
Sofa Sessions was founded by Simon Baum, a singer-songwriter who wanted to help artists reach wider audiences and create more opportunities to earn from their original music.
As streaming has replaced physical and digital music sales, the income available to artists from their recordings has reduced dramatically. Sofa Sessions exists to help change that — by creating a space where artists can perform, connect, and be supported directly by their fans.
This is just the beginning.
